Dance With The Devil

Dance With The Devil

A Poem by Frieda P

           Why does the purple sky
           arouse me to
           wantonly dance with the devil

           maybe the majestic colors
           perhaps
           the sky's glowing embers

           amethyst burns me
drenched in a sultry scarlet dipped
            tonic of intoxicating fine wine
                                          soaking up Sugarplums

magpies swing on my heart
their lush warble
entices a pulsating

horizontal mambo
trip the light fandango
glide into the blue moon

 assaulting
a purple sky with mystic baubles
spins my head

 to magical nights
strumming wicked
  plucking at my
 heart beats
catapulted my senses
 senseless
blazing purple rain
 soothes my soul
its hypnotic allure
enraptures, entrances

 seduces me

why do shimmering
purple skies
 titillate me...?

burgeoning me
 over the blue moon
mesmerized in lipid pools
of your dark soul
i open my eyes
and all I taste
is essence
of you

another enthralling piece of cake. As and always. amethyst skies, dancing devil and magpies invite me a dance with the exhausted rubish devil. may the words rise that i may have them. your poems have been embalming the true sense of poetry and i am not buttering. we dont see really good poems these days.

"Blazing Purple Rain" started the music by Prince. It fit the sensuous tone you set for our imagination to follow. This is a very strong poem, Frieda.

I agree with Relics about your vivid imagination and when you think of a scene you really get transported there dwelling on the intricate embroidery that your mind spins...
The poem to me felt a like purple pleasure alluring all my senses. This is a poem I would read pampering myself after some victory and chilling out with a glass of potent red something.

:)))) that's me !
You are welcome!
I absolutely adore this...it has a mythic grandeur about it, and again we're going dancing...that for me is your trademark image, you use it in many ways and I usually find myself seduced at the end of every song...were this piece to be recited in public, it would have to be through a woman's voice though...I would love to have this read to me before bed...maybe not before sleeping but before bed...Gorgeous piece though Frieda...splendid :)

So many thoughts and desires from a single colour in the sky, beautifully expressed here. Amazing how the sight of something beautiful can play with the mind, heart and soul, bringing us all the flavours you tasted on seeing it. Excellently done Frieda

Anything that feels too good are suppose to be unspeakable... some very cool imagery you bring to life here, it is like a psychedelic trip through the land of Oz.

I can hear the fiddle play...
Are these in archives or do you write all day? What an imaginative mind you present!
A call to dance that begs one to pause...

Do floaties help when you're on a high tower dangling your feet over the edge? ;-P

Not that much... I suggest developing a fear of heights. Then you will never climb up there... ;-).. read more
