Silent Execution

Silent Execution

A Poem by Frieda P

They crucified you, familial mosaic aggregate
   amalgamated guise for appearances sake
weaving stories for the pressing public
utterances cried out upon desolate wasteland
caged to quell the incest of the soiled sheets
savage beast inhaled your last breath
worshiping at the altar of decaying verdant
your shadow cast dark attribution to deception
   elocution in hierarchy's lock-down mode
was it worth the price of admittance

I've been told I have a broad vocabulary, but I don't think those people have read your work :) I mention this only because there is little else to say that hasn't already been said about this piece...you never fail to take my breath away with the raw power of your scenes and images...I've read this a total of eight times so far and I still don't have the words to articulate what this piece does to me...I know your words more often than not come from a very dark place, and the sombre authority with which you drive them home is something that leaves its mark on me long after I've read any given poem from you xo

Thanks lee, I'll keep that in mind...
this has a very dark theme Frieda. in my country, some victims of abuse by their own flesh and blood are being refrained to come out because usually the doer of such vicious act happened to be the breadwinner of the family. it's really sickening that this monstrosity is happening and it's even more maddening that family members could actually turn blind eye on this. a well-penned tragic piece.

Muchly appreciate your sentiments Emma, thanks for being you.
You give a voice to those abused/suppressed. Many horrible things go on in this world. Too often victims suffer in silence due to fear, feelings of shame, and unwarranted blame. Family... sometimes it I uglier than the outside. I understand your sorrows and felt it through the writing.

Thank you my sweet friend.
Wasn't sure exactly what this was about until I read some of the reviews here, very disturbing, yet you wrote it eloquently.

Pretty much.
and the voices of the abused stay silent, because unfortunately they blame themselves so often for what is not their fault...they feel ashamed by what someone else has done. such a sad poem..that provokes anger at all those who do this.

Exactly right jacob, not to mention the hell they're put through when and if they do come forward.
the world is evil, we face it all the time, though we will never understand what causes a human to be so wicked to another. Hate fills the street and neighborhoods, filling in the shadows and hiding behind thick curtains, but it always rears its ugly head and we see. So sad Frieda and i am so sorry for your pain. Very nicely done but blushed with sorrow.

Thank you my dear friend, it's been an agonizing few days, muchly appreciate you.
I will never understand why family members will turn their backs on those who are sexual abuse victims. Oh I know the shallow reasons. To protect the family's name or because they don't have the guts to stand up against the sick b*****d who does it. Too allow children and women to be exposed to more abuse is sickening. And it makes them as bad as the perpetrators. God help them. I know where this write comes from. Your pain and grief is her voice..as she know can't speak for herself. May they all face judgement... ;-(
