       Enchanted by a moon trance 

in your eyes

    starry stratospheres 

          take on sparkling hues

       wafting violaceous diamonds

                    of lapis lazuli

         streaming beautiful music

             in its radiance

cello's playing whimsy 

                 with a prolific message

          strumming across my heart stings

striking old love chords

                     tuning harmonious notes

      beating in my chest 

                  a bumble of flutterbys

              wonder if these butterflies

                                  could be true

                  you make my soul tremble and sigh,

                 would you leave me bluer 

                              than the azure skies

Like Noodlehead I am a sucka for moon and stars pieces. I also would have came here anyway because I thought I saw Raquel minus the fur in the poem photo... ;)
I love how the subject is so enchanted that they are ready to fall in love yet at the back of their mind (and the end of the poem) theres that niggling doubt -
"would you leave me bluer
than the azure skies"
I also liked the use of the cello device because it has to be the most sexual of the orchestra's instruments which adds to the eroticism.

I knew it was your pic all along Frieda. Re the cello link with eroticism - Im pretty sure it must be because of their shape - they're like the way the Rat Pack would have described a 'dame' with the hands drawing the hour-glass shape and with the wolf whistle accompaniment. Phewiit Pheww { }

I happen to love that Rat Pack, and dame was so perfect, sure do miss Frankie....my best friend's father used to listen to him all the time and whenever I went there we were inundated with him, thought he was corny at the time as we were Beatles, Stones fan, but now I see the fascination.

Music and poetry... I was a little bit reminded of Cat Stevens. Maybe it was the Moon trance opening? Not sure.

Did you intend to write 'heart stings' rather than 'heart strings'? I could see either word working, though 'stings' actually conjures up more imagery and 'strings' would be the expected word there.
