Happy Pills

Happy Pills

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~ a bit of satire to help a spoonful of medicine go down.

"
take your medicine

...illusion, delusion, confusion
come undone by your own hand
voices in your head amplified
         like the sing song madness
                        'another loose cannon gone bi-polar'

so easy to fall when deceit is your bed

loose lips, crass innuendos sink ships
                    no way to mend fences,
              always to a live audience
                      you crave your applause
olive branches cultivating rumors, thorns & lies

telling tales you wish were true
                                                       how f*****g dare you

~one pill couldn't possibly make you
any smaller than you already are
"when logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead"

as words purged through hell
             should remain unspoken

till you find your little happy pills

You already know how I feel about rumors and all that. Every rumor or lie someone tells will always bite them on the butt.

I can feel the anger and the disgust in this write, and quite rightly so. We might be able to forgive but we won't forget what they done. This is a strong write, I think we should send a box of happy pills to...... Yeah good write!

Finding a happy pill...I love the write. The anxiety, edginess, anger and frustration that seep through in it are all raw and real. I can appreciate that. Very powerful write Frieda. Could have been ripped from my own diary ;)

"So easy to fall when deceit is your bed" Great line Frieda. You make your point quite poetical, and clearly with this one. Happy pills for everyone!!

hmmmm how true is this. Are we cursed for what feel. The illness that some of us have forces guilt upon our souls. Medication.....a saviour or a hinderance. Personally I feel guilty when i take medication but the affect is warming as it calms me.
Nice piece.

Hehe youre welcome Frieda:)
This is fantastic. I especially loved olive branches cultivating rumors, thorns & lies. It's like waving a white flag while shooting. I also loved the barb in this line one pill couldn't possibly make you
any smaller than you already are. Like the old adage says, how low can you go? I think we're below sea level at low tide and that's when it stinks the most. You sure know how to turn a phrase missy, I tip my hat to you.

Frieda, Wonderful poem. I have friends that suffer from bi-polar. They have a tendency to want to go off their medications when they are feeling good or frankly sometimes simply because they prefer mania. And such damage they do, reeking havoc for themselves and others until they take their Happy Pill. How lucky for them. Yet their loved one are often left with the aftermath of their roller coaster ride. At least that is what arose for me. These lines are pure genius.
