~Fly Me to the Moon~

~Fly Me to the Moon~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Yes, I stole the title from Ol' Blue Eyes...

"
Take me by the hand,
and fly me to the Moon
where fairies play
       & incandescent posies bloom
they dance on rainbows,
        skip on candy coated clouds
Take me on a Riverwalk
when the sun dips for the night
we'll talk until the wee hours
               of  a new dawn's morn
under stars that glitter
     with flushes of flashing harmony
perhaps a whisper or two
whilst we dine on oysters & fine wine
Fill my head with notions of bliss,
         & sweet forget~me~nots
if you ask me to dance
          perhaps, I'll take a chance
sweetly coo a melody for me
adorning song worthy of a trance
we'll gaze at the sky,
       see our own reflections
in the light cast
            upon our hearts in tune
If you take me by the hand,
and fly me to the Moon

OMG This site is going to give me an aneurysm someday...I just spent fifteen minutes pouring my heart into this review cuz I was so touched by this poem, and the site glitches out and erases it...damn it...this is not the kind of thing I need happening to me today...anyways...

I will now try to retain the important bits the best I can: Any man who does not feel the need to extend a hand upon reading this piece is a fool...it reads like an invitation to an emotional utopia where romance is a sacred thing and not a game in which many people do not play fairly...I smiled at the feeling of innocence that pervades this piece and borders on playful, but it was a mournful smile as well, knowing that such innocence is often destroyed by bad apples before it has the chance to be enjoyed...wonderful work Mrs.R, you did a job on my heartstrings with this one :)

Ol' Blue eyes knew his stuff. Back when men were men and ladies dressed up. I am taken back in time with this one. Fedoras and white shirts and skinny ties, skirts, kitten heels, perfect coiffures and red matte lipstick. He held her hand and he led her. Wonderful stuff, m'dear. Angi~

Hope so, I'd hate to piss him off, in other words, thanks ANTO! xo
beautiful. I can't give a one word review anymore even if one word sums it up - this is simply beautiful.

Dropping out of reality is so much fun, thanks Maggie!
The music really made me enjoy this poem! It's so sweet and beautiful! The description was all romantic-something we can't find in real life.

Ha I hope not, would hate to get on his bad side, thanks Leslie....
My NYC mother loved Sinatra so I grew up hearing him along with my dad playing Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. Sinatra had more cool in his pinkie than most musical artist's have in their whole careers now a days. He was war generation cool so he was a different breed than what passes for cool now. His song "That's Life" is one of my favorite songs of all time. When Sinead O' Conner tore a picture of the pope in half on Saturday Night Live Sinatra threatened to punch her in the face to which Sinead quipped "Just being threatened by old blue eyes is an honor." She wasn't off the mark on that.
