Mankind's Desert

Mankind's Desert

A Poem by Frieda P

Stars started bouncing from the skies
light fractured the universe
sunshine toned down its hue
man in the moon hummed  a dark tune
grassy knolls turned to desert wastelands
the day mankind relinquished peace....

Let's hope this never happens. Very cool Frieda and a bit different for you, but I like it. This plays right along with Un-Versed Life. What happens in the future no one knows, but I can only hope it continues to bring your beautiful poetry to me. Life without music, poetry or now peace, as your wonderful poem states, I will not think of any of that.

Your are talent personified, your mind never stops, your beauty finds us in your words for your poetry is beyond amazing.

Heavy and ominous, this piece gives fodder for thought... so that our mantra must now be "I will not relinquish peace..." Excellent, Frieda.

I can be serious on occasion doc....
That's the truth, Frieda. We will reap what we sow.
If man will continuously become a senseless caretaker of his world, he will soon see his own created desert.
Sort of a warning to mankind. Nice concept.

Thank you, Frieda. Enjoy your weekend, too. God bless!
This scenario ( s ) haunts the future of mankind if they do not abolish all chemical , biological and nuclear weapons. Some leader will use them some day for it is a matter of time. A very good write to raise awareness...Bravo

You are so right. I think man is his own predator...:)
A grim but pretty accurate picture of a very real possibility of our future, and I honestly have become enough of a pessimist that I say f**k it, mankind deserves it. You used awesome imagery with this piece that made it hit home all the stronger. Awesome poem Frieda.

Very frightening thought John, thanks muchly for your thoughts this morning, enjoy your weekend!
I hope the artwork is wrong. The scary part is. Being a Soldier for 15 years taught me. People won't fear war till it destroyed a major city and murdered a million people. I pray we don't use bio, nuclear or chemical. Chemical is used today. Agent orange was a form of chemical welfare and today. Chemical welfare is being used today in many places. A powerful poem with a needed message. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
