Divided Asunder~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

♥ For my beloved sister Lee ♥

"
Whilst you were vibrantly breathing,
they'd make remarks, we looked so alike
I was naturally delighted,
since you were much younger than me
You were still too silly a girl
to realize...how fickle fate can be
'you' wanted to appear older,
so it suited us both fine...
I relish over these memories

You're gone, I no longer see my reflection,
as though part of me has been removed...
I wonder if you realize what you've done,
splitting us in two, sisters torn apart
I'm still the one alive, so to speak
taking up space, trying to breathe the air,
although I know you'd want me to thrive...
it's so hard without you here by my side

Your butterfly spirit still dwells giving me strength
more than time and space has come between us...
I'd much rather people were comparing us still,
that our laugh was identical and they couldn't tell us apart

Still pick up the phone to hear your saved messages
I overheard someone speak of you the other day
'which, the one 'still living' on Lindsley?'  they had no clue
that breath means nothing when you're divided asunder

Your sister is so pretty, and she does look like you a lot. I don't want to use the word "was" coz she still lives within you, her spirit is with you, and this is seen in this poem. This is a very good tribute to her. May she continually rest in peace.

My tears are with you darling, a terrible fight to endure and one that leaves us a little less than we were, my love is sent to you, great read.

Thanks Thomas.
I m sorry for your loss. But if she is reading this poem from heaven m damn sure she would be very proud, wet in eyes and happy at the same time.
She will live inside you as long you are here on earth only that the new memories will not be created but old ones will be more cherished without a doubt .

Thank you Avinash, very kind of you to say. I hope so...
I know I've said this a lot, but sorry for your sister. It must be really hard to live when the person closest to you is gone. I'm sorry you had to go through this.

That aside it was beautifully and emotionally written. It was well done and you have my support if you ever need it.

You have touched my heart with your beautiful poem Frieda. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother a few years ago and saved some of her messages on my voice mail...I still listen when I'm missing her most. Big hugs to you (((((Frieda))))))

I found this poem so tender like a warm blanket of love in a chilly winter morning. Still finding something in yourself that's similar to your sister gives you a sense of being more close to her. She lives in you and will always be.

This gave me chills. No one who hasn't lived through a sudden death, specifically to suicide (maybe murder, I am not sure) could get it - It is this huge gaping hole that goes on and on. Closure is so impossible. I feel it, and your writing reflects the depth and breadth of the pain that is so difficult to wrap the mind around.
