Lapis Lazuli Enchantment

Lapis Lazuli Enchantment

A Poem by Frieda P

 Entranc'd in your quiver
    my heart takes a leap
       dancing a'loft captivating
     stratospheres of blitzing stardust,
          radiating in tinsel'd azure hues
       wafting in violaceous diamonds
           of crystalline lapis lazuli shimmer
         streaming a delicate aria
             in its tempo's hypnotic glint
   cello's hum & shiver a whimsical melody
                 commanding a prolific message,
          strumming across my heart stings
    striking old familiar love chords
                     striking harmonious notes
      beating in my aching chest
                  a bumble of dragonflies
              prancing overhead in
                     perfect symmetry
charm'd intentions etch'd
makes my soul tremble and sigh,
script'd in a deep ginger'd esprit
                    within cobalt's luminous skies

A picture is worth a thousand words they say, but it is as if the pictures you paint upon the mind of the reader are infinitely more indescribable, yet we're left with lasting impressions of a dizzying design upon our minds. Fine work my friend and so characteristically Frieda.

Grazie mille Leslie~!
Lapis lalzuli has such a rich history and color. It was the royal color of ancient Egypt and your poem captures the magic of the stone:

wafting in violaceous diamonds
of crystalline lapis lazuli shimmer
streaming a delicate aria
in its tempo's hypnotic glint

This image is breathtaking.

Did a plie to your review, thanks Rachelle!
When I read your poems, this one in particular, I wonder where these words come from ... how your mind creates them. I believe you are a right-brain thinker, a creative artist ... while I, on the other hand, use my left-brain more ... can't seem to tap into where all this stuff is supposedly stored. If we could combine the two ... between us we would make one hellava woman!!! LOL WE COULD RULE THE WORLD!!!!!

Ha, as long as I can borrow those shoes, you're on!
Absolutely brilliant poem hun.... it enchanted me from the first line and danced me to the end. Felt like I was in a ballroom surrounded by dancers in varying colored attire swinging round and round to a full orchestra. My heart is still smiling with the joy. Sigh..xo

Oooh love a sigh from you Red, grazie mille my friend. xo
Melodically flow your words today dear poet, strings of a longing paradise fill the air as I read this fine work this morning. Your pen holds the magical music that brings your meanings to our eyes, our minds and our hearts. Soothing is a word that comes to mind. serene is another, but always and without fail...Amazing is the word of choice when I read your poetry.

Beautifully penned dear poet...a journey for the senses.

You are welcome appropriately...:)....................
had to go to my dictionary ... thank you for my new words :) wonderful tribute to the cello .. those two cello guys are incredible .. i sent them to my grand daughter who, now 13, was becoming disenchanted with her violin (she was 8 or 9 at the time ... i am so glad she has continued with it ... your poem has a music of its own Frieda ... this one is quite magical ... "a bumble of dragonflies " ... marvelous! that one line takes me out of the cold and lazing on the shore ... golden sun all around and those dragons flying and bobbing amidst the cat tails ... i can even smell the warm earth ..
