objects in the shatter'd mirror

objects in the shatter'd mirror

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~just smile

"
I am not who you think I am,
I'm not even who I think I am
smile plastered to my cheeks
it licks my face like a sick puppy dog
in a facade of delusional grandeur
making up the tiny fragments remaining,
truths rummage this road as a junkyard sale
formidable blinking caution signs
constantly stroking the thruways of time
gazing through a twisted kaleidoscopic frame
       pictures and memories always speeding
a million miles per hour in s l o w motion
sharpened edges cut into line of  sight
perplexing thoughts run amuck amidst gray matter
what you see is an unfurled, damaged model
illusions of what once was, now being showcased
 mechanics of life's inner workings
display for a staged marionette behind the wheel
shattered within the soul's dimly lit view
lost control of whitewash ambivalence,
crashed  on the highway of burning intentions
life           is never as it appears

My friend, I feel this one so deeply in my bones that I think I broke a few making my way through it...this poem speaks to me in unspeakable volumes...I can't put into words how much I relate to this piece, if I could I would have written it cuz this is an absolute masterwork...then again, when do you not write those?

The first four lines took my breath away...I wish I wrote those. Not even who I think I am...I didn't make it to the third line before having to stop and just close my eyes for a moment to let it sink in...I know how that feels, so well. Thank you my sweet friend, for writing and sharing this irresistible cry from the heart...xo

I used to listen to this song all the time...are you surprised Mrs.R? Probably not ;)

*Smiling* here, thanks so much Avinash, appreciate your kind words. :-)
So much truth in those words. Those objects or people that appear to be close to us can be the farthest from the truth and vice versa. So too they apply to hopes and dreams in our lives. Eyes can trick us, measurements can be off. Intentions can be vague at best. A wonderful write...Bravo.........

Yep. You are welcome as always...Have a great one...:)................
Just because there is a smile on your face does not always mean that you are happy.People choose to see what they want to because reality is too messy to face :)

...but of course! ;-)
Indeed, things are never as they seems, but often they are more than what you expected...in a good way. None of us smile like we used to...time produces images and situations that take a little of our smiles each time we face them, but...but...just like a car, tried and worn out, it can be restored to its prime and so can our smiles my sweet poet. These frowns can seem like a daunting undertaking to erase, but all it takes is one good warm hand to hold and our smiles too can be restored back to their original beauty and feelings. Indeed, those sad moments will always linger, but each time this hand is felt they become more dim...lost in the past...eventually ending up in the window of an antique store for some one else to purchase...as we drive by smiling at our reflections in our beautifully restored outlook on life.

When you sit down to pen your feelings Frieda, do you realize you will touch us, you will be that hand that we hold to restore our smiles...you should. You are amazing.
