Memoirs of battle-lines

Memoirs of battle-lines

A Poem by Frieda P

Built a self-made prison of fear and beliefs,
wrapped in tissue paper blankets of regrets
discordant conflicted rhyme of untimeliness's wrath
combat fatigues are worn out at the knees,
bombardment on the front of exposure's war
     prolonging disturbance's harbor'd damages,
active participant in a memoir of battle-lines

Sometimes some of us get trapped in a time warp where life appears to pin us down and not let us free from negative emotions. Sometimes though we can chose to break free. This appears to suggest the prison is self made and a corollary is that we are trapped by our own choice even though there are reasons for our grief and sadness. As always full of emotion and descriptive metaphors.

You KNOW that I can relate to this on every level.. That butterfly can still fly ma'am.. she is just shaky and feels beaten down and imprisoned by the demons that others have inflicted upon her... It is such a dark, scary place, I know this.. it can feel so cold and hopeless, but the glow inside of you is so remarkably beautiful and warming it can defeat those evil captors and allow you to fly again... It is time to stop listening to others, and start looking deep for that amazing, bright spirit that I have come to know and love and allow her to guide you on the path of freedom.. It is possible.. and you CAN do it.. with every fiber of my being I know this to be true.. YOU are an AMAZING person... and this is such an honest, real, and brave write.. ((hugs))

the most powerful weapon we have ... our mind ... we use it so easily to put us into an unrelenting spin of self inflicted turmoil ... until we remember once again to look in another direction ...

So deep and heart connecting to read ....sometimes we are in snares of ourselves and sometimes trapped by other.......So painful to read....let the destiny be kind to him and one should not move to such state any how......its so well written like always.....

I relate to this in ways that will be difficult for me to articulate Mrs.R...the easiest way to express how much I feel this piece is to point out that The Wall was my favourite album through my teenage years, and remains one of my top two or three favourite albums, and you know how many albums I have...the first line set the table for me right off the hop...I feel like I've lived my life in a prison...part of it is down to me, but definitely not all of it...I got a lot of help in the construction of my prison...regrets, discordant conflicted rhymes, that's me all right...I suppose this is a good day for me to read this...it would resonate with me on any day, but I happen to be having a less-than-great day and these words speak to me in volumes...I require a sympathetic guard to slip me a key if I'm gonna get out of this prison...maybe poetry is that guard, maybe your poetry even more than mine...I feel every single piece you write, and this one hit me like a hammer...your effortless brilliance is once again on display Mrs.R, and I can't help but be awestruck by it, every single time...xo
