~house of cards falls down

A Poem by Frieda P
"

"
Behind this wall of plastered promises
foundations breaking in trembling tree tops
blocking the zephyrs that cool my keep
no light enters through those blind spots
breezes stuck in lock down's sentiments
torched the bed in emotion's steamroller
desperate structures resting on old laurels
placed a bet at the top floor suite
ended up on ground level's division
watched the house of cards fall down

"desperate structures resting on old laurels

This writing scores an ace as far as talking of hopelessness in relationships goes. We can go on for so long on something so little that transpired so many eons ago.

"wall of plastered promises" - a stunning phrase Frieda...it sums up how little we sometimes setlle for! Another gem! And looking forward to more.

This could be about one thing, but it could be about another. Deceit takes all forms and clouds and surrounds us and hurts us in its many ways. The worst of it is what it does to our trust. And down comes that house of cards.

My Lady, I bow to your feelings in this poignant piece. I find it hard to respond for obvious reason. Life is far from simple, emotions fraught and souls damaged by the ravages of deceite. When one casts around and tries to find a safe harbour there are often ships wrecked in that bay. Another gem!

It’s always possible the minuscule weight of one last broken promise may collapse an elegant structure of endearment built over a lifetime. I enjoyed how you used this metaphor to describe such a broken relationship.

I would like to ape Divya and you" wall of plastered promises-"- stunning lines :)
Trembling foundations- weak and delicate.Torched the bed in"emotions stream roller"- all the emotions is put to this line. The next line is vividly describing how you desperately try to hold onto something which is so fickle.A giant holding unto the twig for salvation in the flood. Another exquisite piece Freida.Your ability to coin phrases is just MIND- BOGGLING!! .. I had tried desperately to hold onto someone but everything fell apart. Pathetic.. ha.. so it was relateable
