Balm for the soul...

Balm for the soul...

A Poem by Frieda P

Thou art the skies, my vast ocean,
        sanctuary
 in the night's pitch dark
  quietude like the flutter
               of butterfly wings
roar of the sea when need be,
wildflowers of my bloom
            in wanton prayer,
     envelops solitude's endearment
   balm for the soul,
                    a dance within spirit
frivolous enjoyment
                    of shared laughter,
   satisfaction
              in the hours of stillness,
surrendering
 anticipation's expectations,
 lifted to a higher plane
            of Utopian gratification
      centering
                                my euphoric quest

The poem is amazing and beautiful. It felt like silence prayer and thoughts. I like the places and thoughts I was able to feel from the very good description. Thank you dear friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thanks so much John, I needed the balm myself on this day...

It sounds crazy, but the laughter and the silliness keep us sane in the times of stress and difficulty. And sometimes, you just need to close up the trunk, and leave it for another day. Apply the balm liberally, like A5 35 ointment, and soothe the pain.

Thanks so much Bpoet. :)
The music accompanying this poem my Lady tells the tale of these, as always, scattered thoughts of words that are like pigment upon canvas applied in layers to create art.

Such a poetic response John, grazie mille.
When we discover that balm, whether it be poetry, friends, music, or any combination of things, then it is like magic to our soul... It can be the quiet in the storm, the laughter that lifts our spirit, the euphoria that drowns out the sadness... It is truly a spiritual experience that has no comparison... again your words caress my soul and music touches my heart to where I am sitting here with chills and a glowing peace of mind... you are truly a beautiful soul that shines through the world and leaves it a better place... breathtaking this morning... absolutely adore this as I do you... ((hugs))

yeah, tell me about it... always good for a giggle or two... :)
Ahhhh, a balm for the soul....poetry perhaps? To have an escape that you can turn to in times of laughter and times of tears, in times of peace and turbulence....well, that is to be at peace with yourself. When you mention butterfly wings, you draw me in. A very emotional offering here....beautifully written...and actually a balm for this reader's soul. Lydi**
