Abysmal darkness..

[no closure] For my beloved sister Lee, Robin, all those lost by their own hand & those left behind. Suicide takes more than one life in the process...

There is no closure in this flight

blighted madness ensues,

frustration of one's own destruction,

   multiplied by the somberness

      of those left behind,

          adds up to sempiternal loss 

either passageway seized,

leads to the grips

               of 

                   abysmal 

                               darkness

Sigh, this is a tough one for me to review love, not because I don't want to...you know I do...but how do I respond to something for which no words can do justice? You didn't fool around with this one...it's short, it makes its point, and it concludes most ominously...was this by design? If not, you'd have a hard time convincing me that it wasn't a subconscious act...I'm speechless my dear friend...I've already shared a lot of sentiments with you in the last week or so that I never shared in all the time I've known you...I'll never feel the full extent of the pain you must carry with you constantly, but I've known you long enough to hurt when I know you're hurting...there is little left for me to do but offer you my love and hugs in perpetuity...I've said it many times and have revealed it to many of our friends here, but you are the strongest person I've ever met, and if there's any solace to be taken from this whole thing, it's the fact that you've inspired an awful lot of people with the way you handle yourself, and somehow manage to be an inspiration to so many of us...you definitely know that you have a place in my heart and always will...I only wish I could take some of this pain off of your shoulders...

You'll notice I've steered clear of philosophizing this in any way, and you know why...it's not my territory to tread upon, nor do I want to tread upon it...I'd just prefer to offer you my comfort and as much of my understanding as I can muster...you have a way with words, everybody knows that, and a way of touching people's hearts with a minimum of words...you will do the same with these ones...xo

there is pain that human hearts can not bear .. there is a line of hope that is only crossed by those without it .. i don't think that understanding it is what survivors need .. we just want to know that they are OK... i wish i could help carry this burden Freida .. i willingly would... as much as i can ... and along with everyone else .. maybe we can be OK .. i send my love .. be that what it is .. wrapped and exploding in a small tight flask .. as it were .. love you Freida .. big hugs ..big big hugs

This touches me in more ways than one, you know why and is very relatable to a lot. Losing someone is never easy but when it has been that they took their own life it makes it so much worse. This poem, although it's so sad, is amazing in it's beauty Frieda.
Depression is difficult to spot, we hide behind our façades, people will think we're funny, extroverted, charming but we hide behind masks. We care little about what happens next, to us. But even when we don't care for ourselves, we care for others, it's not us we mind hurting but we can't hurt others.
This poem is a wonderful reminder to anyone that's feeling down that if they choose to go, they will hurt all those people that love them, and that hurt will last until the end of their days. It's a poem that makes the reader stop to think and maybe choose a different path. I think our reviews are longer than your poem. :)

People who are depressed clinically can not bring themselves to be happy. They can not eat, they can not sleep, they are immobilized in a purgatory we can not really understand....unless we have visited there. They are trapped in a place happiness does not live. They can not think of any way out....other than the ultimate exit. When that happens, yes, it is an eternal loss for the loved ones left behind...the loved ones who never truly understand why. They just know they are heartbroken. Your words are written from the salt of tears, Frieda.....they are heartfelt and intense. I wish I could hug you through the computer tonight. Lydi**

That's the worst part about it Lydia, she wasn't depressed, or she put on one helluva show for all of us, I know people can put on a grand act of a smile when they're in pain, but we shared everything, and it still aches my heart to know that she was in such dire straits and we/I never noticed until it was too late...muchly appreciate the hug my sweet friend.
