Gypsy Antidote ~

Gypsy Antidote ~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_fire burns as an exhale_ élan vital is the vital force or impulse of life

"

There's a gypsy that taunts me,
     haunts me to awakening revival,
   wandering & aimless in stillness
     heart of crystalline titanium
   spirited garden of lofty lavender,
uneasy dreams, condors and butterflies
fly amidst poisons within imploding star,
   breasts heave heavily and dream
in this fire that burns as an exhale
translucent cobalt blue in its scope,
far off lands like cotton candy embers
heard the heat of drums & magical flutes
     photosynthesis of atomic rainbows
        whirling mazes loom overhead
      snowflakes burst to flames,
          restless doves coo urgency
  seasons scheme to proselyte
     foreigners in hasty slow motion,
authentic sighs took a long naked drag,
reluctantly see me as a stranger
      the soul nods, subtly concurs,
          thoughts overcame this paradox
                 pressed to strip toxic exposure,
desert rose lit upon a dark moon's
             intoxicating perfume'd desire
gleaned the essence as an unveiling
in the bared fervor of  élan vital

Great song first of all ;)

Ah, cotton candy embers, snowflakes bursting to flames...heaving breasts...you know I love that stuff Mrs.R :) This is such a vivid and vibrant piece, colourful, imaginative, and full of emotion, doled out in equal measures of rawness and subtlety...the whole thing is one long naked drag...this is definitely a favourite...like I said, it's just so deep and evocative...the whole thing has a kaleidoscopic feel to it...anyways I won't go on too much more cuz I want to get this review in quick...I'm still reveling in this one though.....again, this is definitely one of your more vibrant pieces, just full of life and dancing and good things...love it :) xo

Fireworks abound here as the gypsy is meant to be wild. The other is tempered by the flame and more about thinking it through. Hmm Let the games begin!

I wish I could compliment this with the same veracity in which it was written, but I'm not certain that I'm that talented...but I do admire it!

My best,

Veracity, great word! Thanks so much Kelly....
Kind of hot, especially with the music, or maybe it's just me ... maybe I am too imMature and am reading something more -- I read it a couple times tho, and still come to the same conclusion.
I like it.:)
Umm, I wonder about perfume'd tho -- would that be perfum'd or perfumed?

I just must be in the mood or something ... to help fix apostrophes of course :)
that part about the rainbow was good. writing about rainbows isn't done enough. it's perceived as sort of hacky or something, I guess, but whenever I read something like "photosynthesis of atomic rainbows" it elevates the piece right then. Nice. I liked it.

I don't know why but I've got that song 'sex and candy' in my head now after reading this.
I smell sex and candy...
I can't see what your song choice is, I'm on my iPad and it's not displaying it.

Ah Sting.... Good choice! :)
Love it. The song is awesome. You poetry drags the reluctant and the expectant to burn in its fires and be reborn after the rain passes. You truly bring the desert to life and laughter with those scented evenings and eyes... The gardens of unveiling are awaiting your roses....Excellent...:).....................

Insanity! So good to see you back at the cafe....thanks so much. :)
What a scent. That what it is, the scent of passion, it just about temperaments at times while some are more cold and intellectual ohers more emotional and sentimental there are those who burn with passion and when the see things they consume and in return they recieve a cascade of feelings. Waiting for a revival, the fire that burns and exhales and all trying to overcome the seeming contradictions. Well at the pace and ferocity that this is going the contradictions will be straighten up in no time.

Burn it all up.

Thankyou
