Hope: a Virture

Hope: a Virture

A Chapter by Ethan Paz
"

A poem that describes hope and how it ought to be shown by all men.

"
Hope. A banner of sunshine declaring good news:
A virtue that brings smiles upon immediate use
Is often lacked when air is rare neath the waters,
But the small child, the hope he always requires
Is not demanded or spoken of,
It's as natural as flying for a dove.
But we, who our curse, did cause
Without a second thought wish for the better
Thinking that we were suffering the most,
But ever think ye that good is close?
Hope is always around the horizon;
Security over the next hill.
Just don't look at the ground only,
For you will be in your own little world, lonely.

I like it, but the enjambment (if that's spelled right) is not good. Or at least for me it isn't.

A virtue that brings smiles upon immediate use
I'm not sure what you meant to say with this, but you should say it in a different way because this is not working.

Is not demanded or spoken of,
It's as natural as flying for a dove.
This should've been combined and a new stanza would've been a lot neater.

But we, who our curse, did cause
Without a second thought wish for the better
Commas are in wrong place unless you meant to put them there. The second comma should be either behind cause or behind thought.

However, the ending made me like it again. Still lovely piece.

Nice, a bit uneven, but has enough rhyme. Nice statement.

Nice poem. It's always a good thing to have hope but often it seems so hard.

Hope is necessary in a life. I like this poem. I see my two grandsons. No fear and want to touch and taste everything. To stay and be like children. This world would be a better place. A outstanding poem.

Wow that's very powerful! I really like this piece. The part that really pointed out to me was " Just don't look at the ground only, For you will be in your own little world, lonely." That part really spoke the truth! Great piece! *Two thumbs up!*

I like it, I always have hope. "Even a fools hope" as Gandalf might say lol.

Good work.
