Where is Wisdom

Where is Wisdom

A Chapter by Ethan Paz
"

Wisdom is closer then what you thought. Let's do this.

"

Come and let us reason together

From where doth wisdom lie?

I see the heavens and the stars

But where can I find wisdom?

What is the meaning of life without her?

The fools dance and sing but what about eternity?

Why do I desire wisdom?

From where do these desires come from?

Yea, I see the fruitless deeds of folly that is why I desire wisdom.

But the question still remains: where do these desires come from?

Desire roots from affection;

Affection roots from an interest.

When doth interest arrive?

When the one is more appealing than the other, this is the answer.

I see now that wisdom is an interest.

I have now become a wiser man!

Herein, I have found the answer:

From where doth wisdom lie?

By much questions, by much experience doth one find her.

This part is interesting, especially after I recently watched a show about three different philosophers who were striving for the meaning of life.

I really liked this peice. Very, Bible styled. Like, KJV meets NIV. Is that an oxymoron?

I like it when you use the olden language mixed with your writing. If only I could remember where that bible verse was about wisdom...Maybe I will edit this when I find it. but thank you for sharing I always love reading your writing.

Interesting. Seems like a fragment, the opening passages of a philosophical discourse from the ancient world. But then..I suppose that's a bit obvious (color me Mr. Obvious). As a side note, I noticed the grammar was a bit...iffy in the first question which is also reiterated at the end. Cheers!

You are correct. Most people must learn by experience. We need to listen to the old one's. They have lived through hard times and survived with courage and common sense. A excellent poem.

"Interesting" way of posing the eternal question.
