The Knife and My Back

The Knife and My Back

A Poem by gabiaimee

A chatter I have never known,
sun beams
through windows
on my toes.

Hair tied up in a bun,
to save
it from
wind and sun.

Infinite acquaintances to chatter to,
forty
sit in
rows of two.

Yet I feel so unattached,
I know
the knife's
behind my back.

This is can span some many generations in the blunt force honesty, it is the same logic from the wilderness in 1850 to the wildness of New York in 2015.

I love how it rhymes and the way it's put together. Your poetry makes me think and I am a little intimidated by your intelligence lol
