Fate

It works in mysterious ways.

Miraculous Fate, how you have spared me
one thousand horrors I will never
begin to know.
How your strings have led me to
where I live today
I cannot imagine-
how the stars and planets aligned
just so, and the cosmic events left me
standing on this very earth.

Your universe and mine align under Venus;
I was destined to be yours.
My zodiac told me so, I am dark
and deep and born under the Scorpion.
You are the Lion, loyal and enigmatic.
Your sun is my rising sign.
We are one.
