Major

Major

A Poem by Gavin Keary
"

This is a poem I wrote about my dead cat. He used to sleep in my crib with me, and lived for fifteen years of my life. I miss him everyday, and this is for him.

"

The pain is harsh, rough, and tough with you not being here.

I sit alone, in my empty home, and shead a quiet tear.

Your allways in my dream

held in high esteem.

With sun drenched wings you fly,

higher and higher and never tire, to the heavens above the sky.

Yes it is short, but have you heard the term "Short, but sweet?" This is a nice tribute to your cat and I'm sorry he died. Animals can be there for us when no human can or will. They love us unconditionally and that's a great feeling. I hope putting your thoughts on paper helps you to cope with the loss. Barbara

Great tribute...part of your childhood died with the cat. Tis sad, but you will always remember the Major and I imagine might read this poem in decades from now and it will bring every whisker of him back to you.
