Laundry

Laundry

A Poem by Gabrielle Lyn
"

But I'm pinned

"
You forgot about me
As if I was a piece of clothes on
A laundry line
Left outside to dry
As you went inside
And let time pass by

As the clouds rolled in
You closed your shutters
I was only left to wonder
Would you ever come outside?

The storm is coming
The wind rocks me back and forth
I can easily be taken somewhere else by it
But I'm pinned

So instead here I am
Drowning in the rain
Confused if who I thought you were
Was ever the same
As who you actually are

I try to listen to your voice
But all I hear is thunder and white noise

Maybe I wasn't listening hard enough
Or maybe you just never spoke
Either way you aren't here
So I'll just hold all this water
And let it soak

Why is it that to you I am no more important
Than one of your many pairs of blue jeans
That you forgot to bring inside?

you have a clever/sarcastic way of looking at things which is very creative and pleasant in a refreshing way. there is an honest, playful, innocense to your writing. a sense of insecurity. flows very well. nice style.
