Beyond The Clouds

Beyond The Clouds

A Poem by G. K. Bostic

As clouds above yield dreary days below

While high above the sunlight fills the sky

So just beyond the stormy clouds we fly

To places never seen our spirits go.

The brilliance of your love thou doth bestow

It carries passion's pleasures on a sigh

That speaks of secret answers owning why

The love that binds our hearts doth overflow.

Gone forever fear of hearts rejected,

For to lose such love would be a wretched curse,

So feel the heavenly rays from clouds reflected,

And drown me in your love, my heart immerse;

Two souls shall touch once more with warmth expected

And evoke the beauty of the universe.

lovely piece, tender and graceful! As always Gloria, you know how to speak softly in our ears and pull our hearts with you.

This is almost dream like, everything love should be and could be from beginning to end. It has a good feel to your words as they weave into each other really good work here.

"It carries passion's pleasures on a sigh"

What a lovely line. I really enjoy this piece - and interesting rhyme scheme (I don't see it used very often), but the flow of the poem is wonderful. What a great write! :)

Very well said... nice images and easy to read. I don't appreciate 'clouds above yield dreary days below.' 'Yield' just doesn't seem to be the right verb... maybe simply 'bring' or 'foretell'' or something else. Very nice. :-)

beauty worthy of a sigh ..

Soft and dreamy...as I read it I feel like I'm floating on a cloud of love. I especially like the last line '...evoke the beauty of the universe.' There was one spot in the second stanza where the rhythm seemed a bit off but otherwise very nicely done in my opinion!
