Fairly or Unfairly

Fairly or Unfairly

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

the females have cried foul,
and the males have been tried
and fried by the executioners

fairly or unfairly

and is the culture really
changing or are we just
going to fall back asleep?

I think we prefer to sleep
because men are pigs
and men in power
and the sleep state
means were aren't affected
by eyes that wander
and hands that grab

and these events happen
under cover of blindness

humankind has no omni
and never shall have omni

and that's why we establish patterns
because patterns make sense

and patterns make evidence

and that's why we have the backlash
and the revision and the backlash
to the revision

and yet it's not like humans have
changed due to historical exposures,
due to the indictments brought forth
by better hands than this

so maybe the patterns we see
are of two sharp edges,
the kind that instruct goodness
yet the kind that instill treachery

and that's the omni of it all,
we do it, we learn it and
we know it will happen again

change happens, but it never changes

so hope, hope, hope
and try, try, try,
and fight, fight, fight
for your right to not be
abused the great and powerful

man shall always be inhuman to his fellow man
so long as the solar system remains as a
naturalist's billiard table

history be damned, fairly or unfairly
