Selfish Thoughts

A non-rhyme poem

Selfish thoughts fill my mind.

 

It's something I'm not proud of.

 

Sometimes they consume my heart.

 

Other times, they live inside my very soul, wanting to come out.

 

For they make me think of a life that's not worth it.

 

a life of pain.

 

a life of death.

 

a life of freedom dealing with the word, "SADNESS."

 

I don't want this.

 

And I never wanted the grief.

 

Selfish thoughts, please go away.

sometimes the shorter the poem the better the expression of the point. very well done here. selfish thoughts are what we as humans will always have, and sometimes we will need to be selfish. so take a moment for you every once in a while, don't regret it as long as you are in control of your selfishness, because taking a moment for you is sometimes what you need to love others :) very well written, and the way you used lines to show a cancellation, or sense of propriety was very very unique.
