Biriyani

Biriyani

A Poem by Rebecca George
"

My love for biriyani took me to different places.the places where I enjoyed eating it Maybe it's time for me to write a poetry for it

"
Biriyani,the name itself
Speak all layman's first love and his emotions
Where there was a single person
Who never tasted it?
The king of all meals ,
Prestigious tradition of
mughals worshipped
The grandeur of feast
The long distant fragrance attracts
Every crowd in that place
it was token of love and celebration
My love for biriyani
Changed the cravings destiny
The slow flame  ,the meat  cooking
Boiling of the basamati in water
Getting all the fresh vegetables ,
It taught me about patience
 although people love
Cooking it at the same time
Biriyani was a family meal
The aroma carried us to the feast of
Mughals, where the king was next to me
Accompanied with raitha and sweet
As an accomplishment for every individual
The first taste opens gates of heaven
Where highest Nirvana is attained
But wherever you go, your love
For biriyani never get lost
Be it anywhere, any different place, different biriyani
The  unity of common man's craving wins at last
But the happiness of consuming reminds
Me of our home
