The Path

The Path

A Poem by Healing Star
"

I grew up in Northern Michigan, this is about returning there.

"

As I go walking down this Path

I see the beauty that surrounds me

I trust my Heart as I move forward

Looking at all that lies ahead of me

Look at the grasses standing tall

Warmth of the sands between my toes

I hear the cry of a lone Seagull

Sun is shining to release my woes

The air is clean, fresh and clear

As I reach the water I look in

It is like I am looking in the mirror

Refreshing water as it cools my skin

I look up into the clear blue sky

There is no end to the beauty here

Looking out upon this inland sea

Sky and sea meld as one, unity clear

I walk along these shores of white

The waves roll in along her shore

The blue is mixing for my hearts delight

The day leaves me wanting nothing more

I've returned to the waters of my childhood

I am freed by the freshness of her unspoiled

I've returned to the land where I was misunderstood

This is the land where my spirit first toiled

As I walk in the footprints of a day gone by

I am washed in the waters of Gitche Gumee

I free my spirit in this clear blue sky

Remembering the beginning of the Path to set me free
