My Life

My Life

A Poem by Healing Star

I Finally found My Way Home
I Can go back to that Country
I Was Born Too - My Country Home
Any day I want I can Let it Set Me Free

Long Ago, we went Away
Packed the kids, and the Semi Rolled
We had what we Needed to Find our Way
Didn't Know all we'd Find, and what was Stole

We left the Trees and All that Snow
To Sunnyvale for that New Job
People starin' they can't all be theirs, ya Know
We didn't realize we'd be part of the Mob

It was in the Fall of '87
After we found a Roost to Rest
And how the Winter would be like Heaven
After All the Cold ones we spent back in the Nest

Seein' folks in Parkas was a Joke
When we still runnin' in T shirt on the Shore
The Fog in the City and in the Sun we'd Soak
We'd venture when we could to the Beach or seein' More

More of what Cali had to Offer
The kids peddled to School
As mom and pop had to add to the Coffer
To ensure we'd make the Week Through

Drivin' home from the water Park
We experienced our first Shaker
Got home and saw them all out of the Ark
Learned to understand what they mean by a Quaker

We played and learned and we Grew
Spent those years in the Scouts
And Mom and Pop found moments Few
But we were In Love there was no Doubt

Being completely on our Own
We had to grow and Keep it Together
So many Miles from our First Home
Don't Know what I'd ever have done without Her

And they day came where We could move to the Wasatch
We left those crowded Roads the Ocean and High Rent
And Returned to the Mountains where we started the Batch
Now we could buy our Home where wonderful years Spent

From here we could Drive home each Summer
The streets were so Empty on Sunday
We enjoyed the Mountains and hikin' and skiin' Her
And we had time, more time to Play

Those were awesome days on Angel Sea
We had everything a Home to call our Own
Finished the basement for room for All to Be
And we had our final addition and brought her Home

Everything was going so fine for so Long
And then I got sick, and it thru me for a Loop
When the Liver is attacked it's long before gettin' Strong
When I was coming out it was like I was in F-Troop

An offer came up in Wisconsin for Me
A chance to be where we could do Week End Up .. North
And I was still not myself a little Shaky
But I bit on the offer hard to pass Up

It was with a Large Company called G.E.
Where I'd work on Ultrasound the L 700
North of Milwaukee near my brother we'd Be
Things were good then Sad and we Wondered

Had we done a mistake that we could not Undo
The taxes were raised 2K more than Before
As the Utilities from the Pool and house Grew
And it was not long we were lookin' for a back Door

Almost to the Year was all we had to Worry
Cuz I got a job back where I was near the Beehive
And we just had to get that house sold before Flurries
After sessions on Prayer Rock finally good news Arrived

And when we returned we got the Prettiest one of them All
The house was perfect and kids back with their Friends
Mom and Pop too were all Smiles and sang Joy to it All
Finally those lonely days had come to an End

On Morywood was one of the Best Chapters of All

A wonderful story shared in the poetry my dear friend. I left home for almost twenty years and now I live 20 miles from where I was born. Home is where we feel safe and people. Remember our name. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

About
I am a man who has finally realized he needs to write down what matters to him, that I might learn from myself, what is important, what I value. To capture who I am now, for that is all we have is no.. more..
