Greetings We Bring

Greetings We Bring

A Poem by emone emmanuel
"

We must shout greetings to you even when we mean curses

"
We greet thee great leader
Thou who wash your hands with wine
And eat the wealth of generations unborn
When our children are dying of hunger

We greet thee saviour of the masses
For living in your magnificent palace
When we are living in the streets
As we await your new House Scheme

We greet thee the great messiah
For allowing our children to beg
While yours are begged to enjoy
The wealth of the dying souls

We greet thee great one
Our eyes are full of unwept tears
Covered by forced smiles
That hides the curses we laid on you

I am fast falling in love with your pen Emone. I'm feeling kindred to your words and I am anxious for you to continue writing. How true it is the rich and powerful have no fellow feeling for those who do not share their lofty position and in this sense of disconnect there is no shortage.
