Song of the Susurrus

Song of the Susurrus

A Poem by Gilad Levanon
"

An ode to the melody that is nature.

"
A glimmering gurgle
Of a morning songbird
A shimmering warble
Of a mournful owl

The feathery rustling
Of wind in the foliage
The leathery scuffling
Of little feet on a pebbled path

I'm learning to listen
To the subtle song of the susurrus
My eyes begin to glisten
As I immerse myself in the whispering
Of nature's spirits

To hear their sacred teachings
One must only listen
Listen to the ethereal melody
Of the world obscured
By the discordant thoughts
Of a fearful mind

Then does the song of the susurrus
Begin to reveal its' intricate perfection
Then does the song of the susurrus
Begin to deal its' infinite affection

Excellent! Silence of the mind is so hard to obtain and equally difficult is setting aside the ego of the discordant mind so that one can truly see the truth of the world that is actually around us. I loved the way you slowly drew us to that point~ Nice job~

Silencing the mind and being a part of the universe allowing it to speak to us is a difficult task. This is a beautiful way to get that point across to the reader. This is vivid and well thought out.

Love the poem and your choice of colors is fantastic. I would have to say the color choice for the word subtle is most definitely "subtle" Bravo!

Wow i love this poem. It reminds me of a poem i'm reading now. Humans produce their own rhythm which tries to escape from nature (as if that was even possible). Only when we silence this impulse can we connect with the fundamental reality outside the illusion of our own isolation as "above nature". Great job
