Record the Rhythm

Record the Rhythm

A Poem by Nirmala
"

The amazing ability of the mind to record and replay with utter accuracy can be a joy to live in the past, which is a danger in the complex race of life.

"

Record the Rhythm

Death is no parting

Distance no separation

The heart records life with its love, grief and joy

Preserving it with amazing intensity

Panoramic with colour, sound, smell, sensation

The mind replaying every aspect with clarity and passion

Time not ruining it with either age or reason

Still..., move on swiftly or lose the rhythm

... i have no words to describe the balm that this verse from you exudes ... it gives me infinite solace ... the first two lines resound in my soul ... as i recall instances of ... "parting" and "separation" ... how magically profound it is what you say ... "the heart records life with its love, grief and joy" ... "panoramic with colour, sound, smell, sensation" ... these lines are etched on my soul ... the use of the word "records" is absolute poetic genius ... and the description of the "heart" is as exquisitely mesmerizing poetry ... it beats ... it records ... it plays like a record as it records ... every minute ... and how amazingly well you weave in "the mind" ... "replaying every aspect with clarity and passion" ... it so helps the heart to recall and recollect with precision and emotion ... and how true that it is not a victim of "age or reason" ... and yet how easily we succumb to feeling helpless and resort to all sorts of reasons to self-destruct and lose our "rhythm" ... and you say that with such prudence "still ... , move on swiftly or lose the rhythm" ... stunning verse ... profound, elegant and unforgettable ...
