Proposed for life

Proposed for life

A Poem by Nirmala
"

Just life and the decisions and path one takes at a given moment that all go together to colour the tapestry of ones life.

"

Proposed for life

Decisions designing the tapestry of life

Colours drawn and woven into many a deep relationship

He proposed to be a part of mine

Had I given him hope or a positive sign?

The embroidery had no open spaces

Experiences and events with many distinct traces

Id filled it up with several colours bright

From round the world amid blinding light

That refused to be hidden or put out of sight

Was I right?

Its tough to tell what it might have been

The canvas will never be bare again

To combine the colours of yours and mine

To watch the colours slowly run and deepen

Sharpening, blossoming, richly integrating

Love and life, yet all conforming

Was it a special time or was the decision only mine

Every thought, every deed, preventing thraldom

Fearless and focussed fortified by freedom

Intoxicating in its Queendom

... before i comment on this verse ... i first want to express my awe for your versatility ... it is astounding ... and each verse is rendered with heart and skill ... and this one is no surprise ... but it is exceptional ... sometimes love is so perplexing ... sometimes life baffles ... and the earnestness and innocence of the narrator manages to bring to life that beautiful and puzzling joy called love ... which is so inextricably linked with life ... "decisions designing the tapestry of life" is an exquisite image ... sheer genius ... "experiences and events with many distinct traces" ... magic again ... beautifully blending with the first line ... and then this last enchanting line of the first stanza ... "was i right?" ... and before that ... "had i given him hope or a positive sign" ... who knows what links two souls ... what connects them ... what finds them ... what makes them lose themselves for that quintessential "us" ... and what an amazingly earnest and poetic expression of that is embedded in this first stanza of your verse ... "it's tough to tell what might have been" ... "the canvas will never be bare again" ... the vulnerability of the human being ... the sheer curiosity ... the feeling of being lost ... simultaneously with the feeling of being found ... all echo in these lines ... very eloquently expressed ... "sharpening, blossoming, richly integrating" ... is again and amazing expression ... what an immensely poetic way to embellish love and life ... "preventing thraldom" ... so true ... for love does free ... "intoxicating in its queendom" ... true again ... for love reigns when it rains ... "was it a special time or was the decision only mine" ... what a mesmerizing expression of that ravishing wonder that we wonder about all the time ... beautiful verse this is ... enriching and consuming ... earnest and stunning ... magical ... moving and unforgettable ... how can it not warrant a 100? ... and so it gets that ... wish there was more though ... for it deserves even that ...

i love the tie in here - sometimes we see things different from the love that shares our vision -- you have displayed this to perfection
