Breakfast with the infamous OT

Breakfast with the infamous OT

A Poem by Amanda Dawn Sanderson-Greer

Upon our greeting I noticed on you,
that we had on a matching pair of shoes.
Who knew that Chuck Taylor would be the writer's choice?
Maybe it had to do with something in your voice...
You tried to blow me away with your magical words,
I retaliated by spinning your head with my slurs.
You think I am as magical as you,
yet I do not know why that you do.
The words you speak are not like the ones in my head,
as you, OT ordered the pancakes instead.
I order the same, trying to mimic you -
for you inspire me through all the words that you spew.
You're brilliant sir, and I love what you do.

Nice, very well written. I find it ironic that you hate poetry and yet are so good at it!

I don't know that I should review a piece by a self confessed hater of poetry. (laughing) But I suppose it will be alright as long as your hatred does not extend to the poets that write poetry as well. Chuck Taylor's you say? I suppose I should trash my Italian patent leathers now. (smile) But I have an advantage... I can make my own pancakes.

Thank you... you are too kind.

Anyway, very nice thought and rhyme. It does seem a little ridiculous in places, but very nice!

OT is prostituting breakfasts!!! and pancakes I ask you! You do not have to mimic anyone..your voice is loud and clear :)

Poetry loves you......lol. don't be a hater! This was an awesome tribute to the man that all other men aspire to be (minus the accent). Great writing.

I appreciate the fantastic tone of the persona that gives this piece such an edge...it was playful and entertaining with such a strict rhyme scheme and smooth flow, it was brief yet complete...LOVED it Daisy!

This WOWed the pants off me!

INSERT STAMP OF AWESOMENESS here.

Sometime good to copy. Just don't copy Hemingway. OT is a good example. I like the story and the ending. Thank you for a excellent poem.
