The Mask

The Mask

A Poem by *Beautifully~Broken*
"

We all wear a mask, whats yours?

"
She wears a mask of muteness
People believe she has nothing to say
Unaware she does know
But to them, she's chosen not to show

What is hidden behind
That cover of many kinds
Whatever the occasion may be
It changes to meet her need

She plays a never-ending game of dress-up
Never hide-and-go-seek
Making disguises for her mess-ups
That have made her feel so weak

What has scared her into silence
No one ever asks
They never seem to question
Why, she wears that mask
