I hope you do too

I hope you do too

A Poem by Lydia Waldock

Rivers of mistakes
Time to tick by
Ducks sitting in water

Campfire smoke
Moonlight reflections
Warmed by your smile

Laughter so loud
Pitched tent and sleeping bag
Blankets only cover so much

Asleep next to you
Nightmareless with a stranger
Confident sleep with a smile on our faces

Even if it was the buzz of the last night
And the camp was getting to our heads
I look back at it and smile
I hope you do too

The simple times become our best times dear Lydia. I was a soldier for 15 years. Was some rough days and today. I remember the laughter of friends. I liked the story in the words leading to the proper ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
