I try not to think of you

I try not to think of you

A Poem by Lydia Waldock
"

Post break up poem

"
I try not to think of you
I try not to feel the pang in my heart at dawn and again at dusk
I try not to think of you but all I wonder is what I've been wondering from the start
are you thinking of me?
am I on your mind?
When you take your coffee and cigarette outside does the silence comfort or destroy you?
When you see that lake do you hear me say "the water looks nice tonight"?
When you see the mountains do you hear me say "oh my GOD! look at them"
I try not to think about how I wanted you to see the beauty of this world but you never looked
I try not to think about our conversations for when I do I am filled with a depressed rage at how you'd never speak to me

was it a year I wasted?

A year babe, a YEAR babe, a year, you only called me BABE once that year, ITS BEEN A YEAR BABE

I loved you
I lived you
I try not to think of how hard I fell for you
I try not think of how deeply I loved you
I try not to think of you and
I can't wait for the day I don't

I can feel this poem and understand it. I once wrote a little piece that went, "How do you get over someone you know you will never get over?" Some people are like that. Some we love forever, though it becomes easier with time, they live in our hearts eternally. Nicely written.

I do understand the above lines. Easy to become strangers. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
