I Swear I'm Drowning

I Swear I'm Drowning

A Poem by Demure Penumbra

I can feel the water closing in above me
The pressure of this thing is mounting
As I sink deeper and deeper into this
The water gets blacker and blacker
Devoid of all light as the depths
Close in on me bring me down
Put me 10,000 feet below
The waves of the surface
Where the innocent play
Unknowing complacent
I'd rather sink than not
Know what to do
Tell me what to do
Help me escape
Take this away
Bring me
Back
.

Feeling so weighed down with nothing to combat the pressure with, and yet, still hoping someone will reach out and save you. Great poem, and much enjoyed.

I'm 18, but somehow I'm infinitely older and infinitely younger at the same time. I cannot describe myself because I do not know myself. I am an enigma that not even I have solved, and I hope I never .. more..
