Light

Light

A Poem by Demure Penumbra

You had me at hello, but did you know
That I was bruised and battered, broken down.
You came into my life and changed the flow.
The story of our love is now renown.
I left my home, just had to leave my town.
Those memories I could never erase,
But everywhere I turned there was no lown
That is, at least, until I saw your face.
Your love for me, my pain it did encase.
You built me up and strengthened me until
I knew of the extent of your embrace.
My heart renewed it then began to trill.
I often wonder on these painful nights
What would have happened if not for your light?

About
I'm 18, but somehow I'm infinitely older and infinitely younger at the same time. I cannot describe myself because I do not know myself. I am an enigma that not even I have solved, and I hope I never .. more..
