My Dead star

My Dead star

A Poem by Mad Hatter

Starlight, Star bright,

It’s the dead star I see tonight

I wish I may, I wish might

Have the dead wish I wish tonight

Upon so many broken stars up high

Falls the bright star of the sky

And floating upon my hand

Does the bright star turn to sand

Starlight, Star bright

Upon this dead star I wish upon tonight

Oh lord, Oh god, I cannot save them from shadows fright?

I wish I may, I wish I might

Hold onto this dead dust I found tonight

Through these hands the rubble and sand slip away

To fall upon the earthly grey

I wrote somethin' like this before, actually one of my very first writings. So beautiful as I remember writing it. You must also understand that feeling. Very wonderfully creative and the flow was right on. Cheers

I feel like a girl who never got what she wished for is singing this. I get the gist that a war is going on...but that's just me.

I love it! It's a great take on the traditional song. :)
