Contagious

Contagious

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

I am lost and also trapped. Aching. Heavily inspired by the song "Contagious" by Grant and Runn.

"
Maybe it is best
that my howls bring no one
Cries for help don't bring the sun

Perhaps my poisons are best contained
I hurt and don't want to share
I wish to spread no pain

Hands rarely reach,
but if they did,
my shards would draw blood

The worst part of my aches
is what they do to others
when they bleed for my sake

And my cheekbones drown
when I think of little ones
I know not if I'm fit, and then I frown

Sometimes I want a warm bundle
to hold in my arms,
but maybe I shouldn't if I might bring harm

I just want to give another
the warmth I didn't have
Just someone to shield

Maybe I'm sick and should be avoided
like the plague
Maybe all are front and center while

I should just stay backstage

Was I bad or somehow
deserving of this?
Am I just weak?

I know not which is worse -
the danger outside my cage
or the one trapped with me

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
