Wish It Would Rain

Inspired by the LNU Lightning Complex Fire, though the poem changed a bit since I did not continue it until things calmed down. Discusses worrying about someone else when one should worry about self.

Wish it would rain

So I wouldn't have to worry

I might be slow and daydreaming

When I actually need to hurry

I might have to pack things up,

but take time to hope you're safe

If we all need to flee

I hope you know of a place

I've my own skin and family to take care of,

but I still want to care for you

All my things could turn to dust,

but I wouldn't want that to happen to yours, too
