A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

A poem about still loving someone

"
Am I still allowed to love you?
Even if I haven't heard a word?
Am I still allowed to love you
if some memories still hurt?

I haven't seen you in forever,
but I miss you just the same
A year without you's basically never
and time only adds to the flame*

I still wish to wake beside you
and to see you every day
I still want you in my life, too
and wish you want the same

I still haven't shared my rhymes
and haven't seen yours
I want to share your happy times
and I want to share your chores

Is it a crime to want little ones
to call yours and mine?
Should I be fined
if I want more time to spend with you?

I've worked so hard to cope
only to find that
when we're apart
I still have hope

Surely I seem a fool
to wait here at the docks
as it's been so long
and we haven't done so much as talk

Do people think I want a difficult love?
or that I like to hurt?
Do they think the words "just move on"
ever actually work?

I've never said, "I love you"
and I just want a chance
to go and share this truth with you
even if we've separate paths

I never would've picked you,
but that doesn't mean you're not great
It just means I have a type
and from that you're miles away

Are there labours to do for heaven
If I want to see you again?
Some deed multiplied seventy times seven -
Will we be reunited, then?

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
