Ice Cream

Me and my dog used to take long long walks
i buy lemon ice cream, he prefers chocolate flavour
we used to sit on the garden chair near the black spot of spilled gasoline
and talk for hours

I think now my dog is dead
the black spot is actually a black hole
it absorbed my dog and my lemon ice cream

leaving me alone

When I saw this poem . I cannot resist to comment on this. Special I like realistic ordinary words . You created something from ordinary to extraordinary . This take more effort then profound writing. I wish to one day create something like this.

Honestly I don't know if really dog can eat ice cream. But on other hand is not dog more human when he living with people. I always wonder what dog can think about human language . The black hole can be mortality of everything . To stay alone can be new begging maybe buy new ice cream and find new dog on the street etc.

I think poetic writing can be sometimes overrated. Sometimes simple poem can impress much more then all work by Homer. Yes it's good to know what can really fulfill your heart. At your writing are lot of realistic aspects what make writing truly alive. Maybe not so much noble but very moving. Keep your realistic writing come in . Cause that's make you quiet good writer on this website.

It:s not silly. I felt profound sadness for your loss. I have Solo. She is my grandson's dog but has been in my care for ten months. I walk her every day. I have become so attached to her that when it's time for her to go, there will be another black spot. My heart will take a direct hit. Felt this poem deeply Lale.
