LOVELY ME

Very small, delicate, helpless,

Always crying, making dirty myself

The clothes I wore, the bed I sleep

And all the places I move about

Yet all took me, did all helping me

Loved me, touched me, cared me

All the time eager to make me feel good

So nice people around me

I started feeling beauty the world

Then I said to myself

“You are ok, I am not”

I was helpless and weak

Unable to move beyond

Highly sensitive and possessive

In a state of imbalance an introvert

I wanted to move out of myself

In to the world outside seeking

Exploring being creative, adventurous

Trying to become an extrovert so to say

It was thrilling to feel independent

Moving about freely

Knowing the secrets of life

The pains and hidden pleasures

Asked many questions, whys

Challenging the age old practices

Made others feel not good

And raise their eye brows on me

How could you be this!

You were not taught this!!

What kind of education you got!!!

You are not the one we wanted!!!!

And they called me:

“You rebellious ignorant fool”

Then I said to myself

“I am ok, you are not”

Hesitantly I moved on

Not knowing for sure

My purpose was clear though

To become a confident, patient,

Rational, matured, balanced one

On my way I learnt

After all, all are like me

Moving in a path to search

Light in darkness-happiness

Then I said to myself

“I am ok, you too”

A sense of matured

Balanced View of life

I am moving on yet

I am not happy

Find myself not in balance

Still in my mind thoughts crop up

Some time “You are ok, I am not”

Yet other time “I am ok, you are not”

In extreme “Neither you nor I am ok

But I resist try to force myself

To bring in the thought

“I am ok, you too”

A sense of matured

Balanced View of life

But some where in my heart

In my conscience mind

An intuitive thought Spark out

Life is every moving situation

Anything that is moving

Can never be in balance

All efforts to balance

End up in sheer imbalance

“The wise ones accept life as is, where is basis”

Accepting what life throws our way, without knowing the answer to the question "why?" is hard indeed. This reflects a process of a spirit growing, maturing and learning throughout the trials of life; yet there will always be those moments of doubt that creep into one's soul. Nicely done.

A beautifully written piece by a thoughtful mind. Thank you very much for sharing your path to enlightenment. You do well to seek balance where there is none. *smiles*

It shows how individual awareness and perception changes with time and with experience, and how a person's feelings and experiences corresponds with the person's perception of what is happening within him or her self. I sense that English is not your native language, and this poem was originally written in Bulgarian and translated into English, but your efforts to translate correctly do not interfere with the integrity of the poem. It is a valuable poem with much to teach. Much love and many blessings to you....

i like the theme and the perspective about life and its challenges. i got really distracted and thrown by the grammar and word use though. i mean, there are poems that do not have this strict construction but i think it is a bit too disorganized in this for me. there were a lot of wrong grammars and word use that robbed the intrinsic meaning for me...maybe you could revise it and make it better, i am sure that would greatly improve the poem. thanks!

There isn't much I can say that the previous reviews haven't already. Everyone has different approaches to life and dealing with what it throws at us. Some things can be controlled; others not. I definitely believe in giving life meaning rather than waiting for it. I know the best things have happened to me when I have strived to make a positive difference. Something I will always try to do. NH

Life itself does not dictate my life. In my life.. I decide what is fair and what is unjust. I decide which rules to obey and which rules to ignore. I choose to respect and care for others freely. In my life, I decide what is the truth and what is a lie. I believe that the balance that you speak of does not exist. I do not believe any person will ever be truly content with their LIFE until they are content with their own self. Any "fault" you have makes you unique. Embrace each of these "faults."

Excellent work!

This piece is very moving, the struggle to grow as human beings, to mature, to move past the strictures of our youth, to cast off the shackles of our parents' making. I enjoyed it very much.

One thought. You say: But some where in my heart, In my conscience mind, An intuitive thought Spark out." Did you mean "conscience" or "conscious?" Both could be used, and mean something entirely different, and I wasn't sure which you meant. Conscience being your moral compass gives a particular meaning to a poem about emotional and mental maturity, as in the struggle to grow, to accept others and yourself. "Conscious," of course, refers to the state of being aware. Didn't know which you meant, and just wanted to point it out.

This piece makes you think. I liked it.
