That Feeling

That Feeling

A Poem by Damon Favreau

You know that feeling?
That she's thinking of you,
Or if she's with someone new?
You start writhing.
Unsure what to even think.
"What kinda couple would we make?"
Even the question jolts your insides,
"I'm faithful to whom I abide..."
Burning thoughts reside:
"What do I say?"
"Will she know?"
"Is it a game to play?"
"Where will we go?"
One thing stays clear to me:
I don't care if everyone will see
Or hear of whom I hold dear;
I won't even shed a tear.
I will not fear what's yet to be
Or if I am meant to be with thee;
I'm happy with who I am,
The rest: I don't give a damn.
