A Damsel's distress

A Damsel's distress

A Poem by gram linski

The maiden ran to Vulture valley
and demanded *eat me alive*
the vulture replied
*you are not carrion, my dear,
we can only eat you dead,*

she ran into the tiger's den
and screamed *kill me now*
the tiger King snarled
then laughed,
*but, Miss I want you alive*

I guess her first problem is that she identifies as a damsel. Sort of implies that she is in need of perpetual rescue. The problem with that is that someone (or, here, some creature) always has their own agenda or idea of how the story goes.

Maybe the tiger king will teach her life is not so bad and sit her on a throne where she can learn how to be a little more tune in to her own power. That could be a good ending for her. As long as she doesn’t go to the other extreme and become the tyrant.

Sorry, I can’t just read a poem and let it be the simple poem, haha. I always have to expand the universe of it in my mind.

I enjoyed your story here. It makes a few others bloom out in my mind after reading. And she becomes...many possibilities.
