Coasting

Coasting

A Poem by gram linski
"

a travelogue poem

"
A necklace of
Diamonds and sapphires
line the banks
of the black blackest sea
and the midnight blue
of the sky
misty mountain disappeared
in night and cloud

as solitary fisher, boatmen
paddle earnestly, hunting
the seagulls call

my vision is blurred
by the million illuminations
not even aware of the
me

the shoreline wavers
as if seen through
Desert heat

the shimmering
and the sand beneath my toes
azure blue - bright fire light
                                yellow
                       hovering in a
void of dark ice.

Spectacular seascape here gram by night complete with heat thrown in. I enjoyed so much the imagery of that solitary fisher and the mesmerising sparkle of shoreline lights. Quite lovely. And then, the feel of the sand between my toes gave it added value. I didn't want to leave. Thank you for the journey.

This conjured up some quite lovely imagery in the mind's eye gram.

Love the third verse in particular. It really focuses the mind on how vast is the universe, and how tiny and insignificant we are in comparison.

This feels chilly and cool as morning water in the sun. I spent much of my youth on rivers, streams and lakes and some of that mountain water feels like it might still have ice in it from winter. Good read. F.
