How to catch a poem

How to catch a poem

A Poem by gram linski

How
to catch a poem
a sliver of thought
the invisible hand

the shadowy flight
     of ( A ) muse ( ment )

the essence of fire and flame
of spirit of soul

of love and despair
and heartache and joy

of triumph and adversity

pen poised
ready to snatch haiku seagulls
                                   of          mind
     from imagined pastel skies

blank virgin hempland w***e
                   staring          -          unblinking

     a litany of prayers scrawled
          in blood on long
               forgotten walls

in lipstick kisses in steam and mist
                                  in the night
                                for the moon

How
to catch a poem :

you can only hope
it wants to catch
                            You !

I love this poem & miss reading you. This is a whimsical flight of fancy that perfectly describes this unlikely capture. Your poem makes me wonder why I will get my lazy a*s in gear to pursue some inspirations that hit me & yet a million other possibilities zip thru my filter and fly away before I can capture them. It's definitely not under my control, as you creatively point out in your ending twist. Here's hoping life is treating you & yours well (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

So like your snippets of inspiration here. Wonderful imagery you gave me. And lipstick kisses is a favourite. The art is to get it down in writing before it escapes your thinking. Timing is everything. The number ot times I have had a flash of inspiration and lost it while washing up :)) Good to call on you gram. Hope all is good up there over the border:)

Alfred "the Birds" are back in town...
inspiration does find its way to us...I am sure of it after writing all these years.
It nests in our brain, and flies when it wants to , not when we want it to.
can relate to this, thanks, gram.
