Crab Fishing off Assateague, Maryland

Crab Fishing off Assateague, Maryland

A Poem by Samuel Ferris

The sea was bright, gleaming
across the dock.

The Morning sun, shine
horizontal rays

refracting over the seas
surface.

With a vast ocean before me
Rocking, the dock lifted

me up and up, as i waited
to pull a meal, clawing
out of the darkness.

mmm yes this reminded me so strongly of my new england roots..

gorgeously constructed... and the syntax is perfect, drawing out the moment with a simple delicacy
