Hyperbolic Moments

Hyperbolic Moments

A Poem by Samuel Ferris
"

originally started as an exercise in hyperbole, but then i decided to make all of the hyperboles, moments, or variations on the original.

"
I.
Gigantic orbal eye,
as bright as the sun,
glancing across the table,
and a deck of cards.

II.
I have weathered
the stormy temple
of her glancing eye,
like a spear of lighting
jolting furiously by.

III.
Limestone stair,
jutting up the canyon;
One-thousand year old steps
now take a day to climb.

VI.
Impossible summit,
the everest of all smiles,
It is not enough to make camp
at your bluff.

V.
Eye as black as spades,
the inverted chasm of a smile,
How many days have past
since i last held  back your gaze
with a flush?
