A Simple Gift

A Simple Gift

A Poem by Samuel Ferris

As a gift i gave
the sky a mirror,
and in return she
gave me back
my reflection.

I have stared long
into the surfaces
of things, and see now
my image repeated
between a puddle and the sky
off into infinitesimal space.

Samuel Ferris
i got the idea from reading a review of citizen kane, i havent actually watched the movie yet, but there is supposedly a scene where he walks between two mirrors and sees his image repeated infinitely smaller in both mirrors.

yeah, the movie is brilliant very surreal like your poem with infinitesimal scales.. it really describes the movie image accurately. isn't this psycho-poetry? you create a new genre...
