I realize more and more

What we used to believe

What we thought it real

History, stories, and theories

Magazines and TVs

Most are a source of lies

People we trust

People we love

All turns to be

 nothing but a big lie

 

What left is our faith

Please let me keep my faith

It is what makes me strong

what keeps me away from wrong

It is what makes life worth living

 

How could we stay sane

If we are living

In a bubble of lies and shame

Nicely presented Hadeel and it is good to see the faith in the second last stanza that is needed to get through The Big Lie. I wonder at times whether it is a theory or a fact... I wonder how unconscious the belief in The Big Lie actually is... So many seem to meander about unaware of truth for to them the lie is the truth. It is especially hard to bear when it is friends and family doing it. Thank God for faith!

but you know something , honestly i find it much easier to write a poem in English than my Arabic language , cause to write a poem in Arabic , you can't call it a poem , without a certain rules , which is really hard , Arabic it is a very beautiful language , but its really hard even for us native speakers , so i am lucky that i was born Arabic :)

I believe "Arabic" is a language of life and living... English, on the other hand, is a language of "shades" of meaning. For a poet - the "Shades" best express what we try so hard to say. The difficulty of Englishcomes in tying what we say into a cohesive string.

I understand the idea of this piece. The thoughts are clearly projected, though I tend to see life a little differently you are correct in the idea of faith. We have nothing if faith is gone, we have nothing if hope has disappeared but sometimes when all hope is gone, our eyes open up and we are able to move in a new direction that leads us to a greater purpose.

yes you are right. we can no longer know what is right and what is wrong, after January 25th revolution in Egypt, i discovered that most of my beliefs were wrong. alot of people i trusted as good ones were already wearing masks. i discovered that most of them were fake..
and yes, our beliefs is what is left for us..
